

Vice Minister of Commerce Wang Chao, head of a Chinese business delegation, met with US Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee in Houston, Texas on January 16.
Wang Chao expressed that the visit of the Chinese delegation to the U.S. is aiming to enhance Sino-US economic and trade cooperation. The delegation, consisted of over 400 entrepreneurs, will visit 12 states and the Washington D.C. for the promotion of trade and investment, which fully reflects that Chinese government attaches great importance to developing Sino-US economic and trade relations. Mutual benefits and win-win are essentially important in bilateral cooperation, and the two governments shall make efforts in facilitating cooperation between enterprises of the two countries, and steady and sound development of Sino-US trade and economic relations.
Lee said that Houston enjoys well-developed infrastructure, and the City Council welcomes Chinese enterprises to invest in Houston, and is willing to create a favorable environment for them, hoping that the two sides to reach more practical commercial agreements through communications of enterprises from the two countries.
Wang and Lee attended a function hosted for enterprises of US and China. Wang Chao also had a breakfast with Texas ex-congressman Solomon Ortiz and exchanged views on Sino-US trade and economic relations, export control, Chinese enterprises' investment in US.
China is Houston's third largest international trading partner, with trade of over US$ 10 billion in 2009.
